The Spirit of Adventure fund was set up by the Old Girls’ League in 1985 from a $2,000 bequest and $4,000 from funds raised during the year. The income from that fund paid for one berth per annum on each of the Spirit of Adventure and Spirit of New Zealand.
In 2026, the Diocesan Alumnae Association is proud to fully fund 100% of the fees for the 10-day Spirit of Adventure Development Voyage for all scholarship recipients. This reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting the girls as they challenge themselves, grow in confidence, and discover more about who they are beyond the classroom.
The 10 Day Challenge is about overcoming obstacles, learning tolerance and acceptance, improving communication and leadership skills and learning the importance of self-awareness and being a part of a team. All girls are encouraged to apply. Applications open in Term 1 of either Year 11 or Year 12. For further information please contact the Alumnae or your daughters dean.
The DAA was overwhelmed by the exceptionally high calibre of applications received for its 2026 Spirit of Adventure Scholarships. The maturity, thoughtfulness, and sincerity shown throughout both the written applications and interviews made the selection process incredibly difficult.
We are delighted to announce that 15 students have been selected as recipients for 2026:
Scarlett Archibald, Liv Bethell, Lauren Cartwright, Scout Challinor, Jasmine Curran (ABSENT), Holly Fergusson, Josie Hawkins, Kate Howse, Juliette Laury, Olivia McMenamin, Johanna Middlemiss, Ruby Ogg, Hope Shepheard, Isla Soosay, Mia Trethewey.
